The Best Eiffel Tower Photo Spots in Paris, Including  Unusual Locations

The Best Eiffel Tower Photo Spots in Paris: A Photographer’s Guide

As a professional Paris photographer, I know the best places to photograph the Eiffel Tower  from iconic viewpoints to hidden Parisian streets that offer a more authentic and elegant atmosphere. Choosing the right Eiffel Tower photo location is not only about the view, the time of day, lighting, crowds, weather, and overall style of your photo shoot can make a huge difference. If you are planning a Paris photo shoot with the Eiffel Tower, here are some of my favorite locations and my recommendations for when to visit each one.

If you want your Eiffel Tower photo shoot in Paris to feel more personal and less like a typical tourist session, I recommend combining several of these locations rather than staying in one place. Some of the most beautiful photographs often come from the transitions between locations, walking along the Seine, discovering a quiet Parisian street, stopping at a café, or capturing the Eiffel Tower from an unexpected angle.

For me, the goal is not simply to photograph the Eiffel Tower. It is to create photographs that feel like your experience of Paris, with the Eiffel Tower naturally becoming part of the story.

Each location has a completely different atmosphere:

1. Avenue des Camoëns - elegant, romantic and sophisticated Paris.

2. Le Recrutement Café - authentic Parisian streets and natural lifestyle photography.

3. Galeries Lafayette Rooftop -panoramic views, Paris rooftops and an editorial feel.

4. Rue de l’Université - classic Parisian streets with an impressive Eiffel Tower perspective.

5. Pont de Bir-Hakeim - cinematic, architectural and fashion-forward.

6. Trocadéro - the iconic Eiffel Tower view everyone recognizes.

7. Flower Shop - romantic, colorful and Instagram-worthy.

8. Port Debilly - A Quiet and Intimate Seine Riverside View.

9. Palais de Tokyo.

10.Passerelle Debilly - A More Architectural and brutal View.

11. Pont Alexandre III - A Classic View of the Eiffel Tower.

12. Jardin des Tuileries - Eiffel Tower from the Heart of Paris.

1. 1 Avenue des Camoëns, 75016 Paris

Avenue des Camoëns is one of my favorite locations for an elegant Eiffel Tower photoshoot in Paris.

This charming little Parisian street features beautiful architecture, a staircase, a few trees, and a lovely view of the Eiffel Tower. Unlike a traditional tourist viewpoint, the Eiffel Tower becomes part of the Parisian surroundings, creating a sophisticated and natural composition.

It is an excellent location for couples, engagement photos, fashion photography, and editorial-style portraits.

Best time for photos:

I recommend coming early in the morning, when the street is much quieter. The location is popular with tourists and content creators, so arriving early gives us a much better chance of having the area relatively empty.

It can also be beautiful in the evening, especially when the Eiffel Tower lights up and sparkles.

Best for: romantic, elegant, fashion and editorial photography.

2. Le Recrutement Café. A More Authentic Paris

36 Boulevard de la Tour-Maubourg, 75007 Paris

If you are looking for something less touristy and more authentic, Le Recrutement Café is one of my favorite places for an Eiffel Tower photoshoot.

What I love about this location is that the Eiffel Tower is photographed as part of the real Parisian environment. You get traditional Parisian architecture, beautiful streets, cafés and the Eiffel Tower naturally appearing in the background.

The result feels much more like a Paris street photography session rather than a typical tourist photo.

This location works particularly well for fashion photography, street-style portraits, couples, and lifestyle photography.

It is also easy to combine with nearby streets and cafés, allowing us to create a variety of photographs without traveling far.

Best for: natural Parisian portraits, fashion, street photography and lifestyle sessions.

3. Galeries Lafayette Rooftop - Eiffel Tower and Parisian Rooftops

Galeries Lafayette Haussmann, 40 Boulevard Haussmann, 75009 Paris

For a completely different perspective, I highly recommend the rooftop of Galeries Lafayette Haussmann. From the rooftop terrace, you can see the Paris skyline and rooftops with the Eiffel Tower in the distance. Instead of photographing only the monument, we capture the Eiffel Tower as part of the entire Paris skyline.

This creates a more editorial and sophisticated look and is a great alternative to the classic Eiffel Tower viewpoints. It is particularly beautiful for couples, fashion photography, engagement photos, and elegant Paris portraits.

Best time for photos:

I recommend either early in the day or around sunset, depending on the season and the position of the sun. It is important to check the opening hours of Galeries Lafayette when planning the photo shoot, as the rooftop is accessible only during certain hours and may occasionally close due to weather conditions.

Best for: panoramic Paris views, fashion photography, elegant portraits and sunset photos.

4. 228 Rue de l’Université - A Classic Paris Street View

228 Rue de l’Université, 75007 Paris

This is one of those locations where you immediately think: Paris.

The Eiffel Tower rises at the end of the street, surrounded by classic Parisian architecture. The slightly upward perspective makes the tower feel particularly impressive while keeping the atmosphere of the surrounding neighborhood in the frame. I love this spot because the photographs feel both iconic and authentic.

Best time for photos

For the best results, I strongly recommend coming very early in the morning, ideally before 9 AM.

This is a very popular location, and the number of tourists increases quickly during the day. Early morning gives us the best chance of creating clean, elegant photographs.

Another advantage is that there are several cafés just a few steps away, making it easy to change locations and incorporate a coffee stop into the photo shoot.

Best for: classic Paris photography, couples, engagement sessions and romantic portraits.

5.Pont de Bir-Hakeim. A Cinematic Eiffel Tower Location

Bir-Hakeim bridge, Paris

Pont de Bir-Hakeim is one of the most cinematic locations for an Eiffel Tower photo shoot in Paris. Its distinctive metal structure, architectural lines, elevated metro and views toward the Eiffel Tower create an incredibly atmospheric setting.

The bridge has become particularly recognizable through cinema and fashion photography, making it an excellent choice if you want photographs that feel more editorial and cinematic. The architecture gives us plenty of opportunities to experiment with perspective, symmetry and leading lines.

Best time for photos:

The best times are generally morning and evening.

However, this location can also work beautifully on an overcast day. Soft, diffused light complements the architecture and creates a very different mood from a sunny afternoon.

Best for: cinematic photography, fashion, editorial portraits and couples.

6. Trocadéro. The Iconic Eiffel Tower View

Place du Trocadéro, Paris

Of course, no guide to the best Eiffel Tower photo spots in Paris would be complete without Trocadéro.

This is one of the most famous views of the Eiffel Tower. The wide perspective, Palais de Chaillot and Eiffel Tower create the classic Paris postcard image. However, its popularity is also its biggest challenge.

Trocadéro can become extremely crowded, especially during the day. For this reason, I strongly recommend scheduling a photo shoot here early in the morning, ideally before 9–10 AM. Early morning gives us much more space to work and a better chance of capturing beautiful photographs without large crowds.

If you prefer something more intimate and authentic, however, I would recommend one of the other locations on this list.

Best for: iconic Eiffel Tower photos, classic Paris portraits, couples and engagement photography.

7.The Flower Shop.A Romantic Instagram-Worthy Eiffel Tower View

L'Howea flower shop 18 Av. Rapp, 75007 Paris

One of the options for adding a few Instagram-worthy Eiffel Tower photos to a session is a flower shop location. The composition combines a traditional Parisian street, a charming flower shop, French architecture and the Eiffel Tower in the background. It creates a very recognizable Paris aesthetic and works particularly well for romantic and lifestyle photography.

This is usually a location I recommend for a few specific photographs rather than an entire photo shoot. Because the spot is popular with tourists and content creators, I recommend visiting early in the morning when shop just opened.

Best for: romantic photos, Instagram content, fashion and Parisian lifestyle photography.

8. Port Debilly. A Quiet and Intimate Seine Riverside View

Port Debilly is one of  less crowded Eiffel Tower photo spots in Paris. Although the area itself is well known and attracts tourists, the riverside location sits slightly below street level and requires walking down a set of stairs. Because of this, many visitors simply never make their way down there. As a result, the riverside is often surprisingly quiet and sometimes completely empty, especially compared with the major Eiffel Tower viewpoints. It is not unusual to have the area almost entirely to yourself, which makes it an excellent choice for intimate and natural photographs. I especially love this location for wedding proposals in Paris. The combination of the Seine, the Eiffel Tower and the peaceful atmosphere creates a romantic setting that feels much more private than Trocadéro or other famous viewpoints.

It is also a wonderful choice for couples, families and larger groups, as the riverside provides more space and allows us to create a variety of compositions. For a wedding proposal, I particularly recommend early morning or evening, when the Eiffel Tower begins to sparkle. The evening light combined with the illuminated tower can create a truly magical atmosphere.

Best for: wedding proposals, couples, families, groups and intimate Paris photography.

9. Palais de Tokyo

Palais De Tokyo, 42 Rue de la Manutention, 75116 Paris

There is a beautiful little viewpoint in the Alma-Marceau area that I like to use for a few photographs during a larger Paris photoshoot.

I would not necessarily choose this as the main location for an entire photo shoot, but it is a wonderful additional Eiffel Tower photo spot that can easily be combined with other nearby locations.

It is especially useful when creating a varied Paris photography itinerary, as we can move between several different perspectives of the Eiffel Tower without spending too much time traveling.

Best for: a few elegant additional portraits, couples, fashion photography.

10.Passerelle Debilly. A More Architectural and brutal View

Passerelle Debilly, Paris

If you are looking for a more unusual and architectural view of the Eiffel Tower, Passerelle Debilly is a great option. This pedestrian bridge crosses the Seine very close to the Eiffel Tower and offers a perspective that feels noticeably different from the classic Trocadéro or Rue de l’Université views.

The metal structure of the bridge creates a strong, graphic and slightly more brutalist atmosphere, which makes it particularly interesting for men’s portraits, fashion photography and editorial shoots.

The location is still popular with visitors because of its proximity to the Eiffel Tower, but it feels less overused than some of the most famous Eiffel Tower viewpoints.

I especially recommend this location when you want to have a stronger architectural character rather than a purely romantic feel.

Best for: fashion photography, editorial portraits, men’s portraits and modern Paris photography.

11. Pont Alexandre III. A Classic View of the Eiffel Tower

Pont Alexandre III, Paris

Pont Alexandre III is one of my favorite places for an elegant Paris photo shoot. From the bridge, you can see the Eiffel Tower from a slightly different angle, framed by the beautiful architecture of one of the most spectacular bridges in Paris. The bridge itself provides countless photographic opportunities, with its ornate details, sculptures, golden elements and wide views across the Seine.

This is an ideal location for couples, wedding photography, fashion shoots and engagement photos.

One of the things I love most about Pont Alexandre III is that we can create many different photographs without changing locations. The bridge itself becomes an important part of the composition, while the Eiffel Tower provides the iconic Parisian background.

Best for: wedding photography, engagement sessions, couples, fashion photography and wedding proposals.

12. Jardin des Tuileries. Eiffel Tower from the Heart of Paris

Jardin des Tuileries, near Place de la Concorde

The Eiffel Tower can also be seen from the Jardin des Tuileries, particularly from the area around Place de la Concorde.

From here, the tower appears in the distance and slightly above the surrounding Parisian landscape. It is not the most dramatic Eiffel Tower viewpoint on this list, but it can be a beautiful addition to a Paris photo shoot itinerary.

I particularly like this option because the Tuileries Garden can easily be combined with other iconic Paris locations such as the Louvre and Place de la Concorde.

Rather than dedicating an entire photo shoot to this viewpoint, I recommend using it for a few photographs while exploring central Paris.

Best for: short photo sessions, family photography, couples and multi-location Paris photo shoots.
